Wow! I can't believe this is the last week of the semester. All missing work/corrections are due by 3:45pm on Tuesday so I can finalize grades. Our quiz over Investigation 3 will be on Wednesday.

We started Investigation 3 on Friday and we will continue through that Investigation this week. We will finish this Investigation next week and have a final quiz before break. When we return in January we will do Investigations 4 and 5 and have a quiz to finish the unit. We will not have a unit test for Thinking With Mathematical Models.
Friday's homework will be the last assignment of the semester (due Monday, December 15th).
All missing work/corrections from this unit (Investigations 1-3) will be due by 3:45pm on Tuesday, December 16th

Week of November 10th

We finished our unit Looking For Pythagoras last week and we will start a new unit, Thinking With Mathematical Models (TWMM), this week.


Monday: No school


Tuesday: Review concepts learned this year - Pythagorean Theorem, Linear Equations, Volume, and the Metric System. Students will rotate through stations practicing these concepts. 3rd hour will not meet today due to the Veteran's day assembly and panel.


Wednesday: Check out new books and return old books. Begin with problem 1.1 in TWMM

We are finishing our unit, Looking For Pythagoras, this week and we will have our unit test Friday. All missing work and/or corrections are due by 3:45pm this Thursday, November 6th. The study guide will be handed out today.

I did not hand out the study guide today as planned. I decided to make some changes to it and I will hand it out on Monday.


I did not assign homework for the weekend, but I did tell students that they could work on missing work and/or corrections. Any work from this unit is due by Thursday, November 6th @ 3:45pm.


We will take the unit test on Friday, November 7th.

Week of September 15th

We are working on the last investigation in Moving Straight Ahead. I have the unit test scheduled for next Wednesday, September 24th. Our homework schedule is a little different due to the test.

Today I am talking to the students about the unit test. I reminded then that they can correct homework for full credit and correct quizzes for half-credit, but there are no corrections on unit tests.

I give the study guide a week before the test to give them time to practice. I have asked them to spend 15 minutes each day working on the study guide. We will review in class next week and I will offer a study session before/after school (time to be determined).
