GGG missing work/corrections

We took the unit test for our book Growing, Growing, Growing yesterday. We are starting a new book called The Shapes of Algebra tomorrow. If students have any missing work or corrections from GGG they must be turned in by Monday, April 29th @ 3:45pm.

I had a great time at the NCTM National Conference! I learned many wonderful things to bring back to the classroom!
I still have the unit test tentatively scheduled for tomorrow. I would like to check in with the students today to make sure they will be ready for that, if not, I may move the test to Wednesday.

Week of April 15th

This week we will continue Investigation 5. I still plan to have the unit test on April 23rd depending on how the week goes.
I will be gone Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week to attend the National NCTM conference in Denver, Colorado. I'm very excited to be the student for a few days and learn as much as I can to bring back to the classroom.
I will leave information for my substitute and ask that he/she provides assignments if students are gone this week. There will be a homework assignment on Monday and the study guide will be handed out on Tuesday, due next week. Please have your child work on the study guide for 15 minutes per night.

We are continuing our book Growing, Growing, Growing. We will finish Investigation 1 on Tuesday and take the quiz Wednesday. Only 1 homework assignment for this short week!

Conferences

Conferences are scheduled for Tuesday, March 12 from 4-8pm and Thursday, March 14 from 11am-8pm. I told my students today that I am having surgery on Wednesday, March 13 and I will miss conferences on Thursday, March 14. If you had planned to attend that day, please let me know and I can schedule a different time to meet with you. I will be glad to meet during my plan time or right before/after school sometime this week or early next week.
If everything goes well, I will be back to school after Spring Break.

We finished state testing yesterday and we are ready to start a new book! The kids did a great job!

Today we will learn about Scientific Notation and take a pre-test for our new book, Growing, Growing, Growing.

Homework, due Monday, will be practice with Scientific Notation.

Week of February 25th

 I hope everyone enjoyed our snow days on Thursday and Friday! It will be interesting to see if we have any more snow days this week!
The plan this week is to review on Monday and Tuesday and take the state assessment on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
We may have to keep our original testing days of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If this is the case we will start a new book on Friday called Growing, Growing, Growing and students will have homework over scientific notation due Monday, March 4th. Otherwise, there is no homework this week.
Please encourage your child to get enough sleep and eat well this week. I do believe this helps them be prepared for testing.

I'm sorry for the delay with this post, I had some computer issues and I could not log in to the blog. This week we are practicing skills for the state assessment next week. It is scheduled for February 26, 27, and 28. I did give students homework for today and Thursday just in case we have a snow day or two!
